FM Logistic has committed to setting science-based emissions reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). FM Logistic thus joins a group of 2,000 companies wishing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with climate science.
Created in 2015, the SBTi helps businesses set emission reduction targets aligned with recommendations from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
The validation of the targets by the SBTi’s scientific committee may take up to 2 years. In the meantime, FM Logistic will continue to implement measures to reduce its carbon footprint. These include the increased use of renewable energy sources, including green hydrogen, and the design of energy-efficient logistics buildings.
The SBTi is a partnership between Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
